The KLue Blue Chilli Awards is searching for young and talented individuals who excels in their respective fields. We are talking about arts, business, fashion, social work, education or any other industry. This ain’t your typical talent contest where nominees will have to sing or dance on stage as they’ll be judged by their merit with great potential to succeed in their respective field.
Among the past talents discovered by the KLue Blue Chilli Awards are,
- Social entrepreneur Raj Ridvan Singh (2008), who is actively pursuing a broader scope of education for thousands of youth in Timor Leste through Science Of Life Systems 24/7 (www.sols247.org), a youth-run organization that offers a comprehensive training and boarding program on life-skills education for youth.
- Ng Khai Lee (2007), who has co-founded www.youthsays.com , an online youth opinion community.
- Singer-songwriter and music event organizer Reza Salleh (2006), who has grown his Moonshine music gig around Klang Valley to promote local talent.
- Visual artist Sharon Chin (2006), who has since had her works exhibited at contemporary art space Gertrude in Australia and at our very own prestigious Galeri Petronas.
- Activist filmmaker Mien Lor (2006), who continues to use film as a medium for social change and has been one of the major drivers behind the annual Freedom Film Festival, a human rights film fest in Malaysia.
This year you, the public will be in control of who’s getting into the Blue Chilli Awards. Yes, you will have the power to nominate anyone you deem fit to win the Blue Chilli award. Nominees can be from any field of work, but have to be between the ages of 18 to 27 years. Nominations must be submitted by 31st May 2009 through the KLue Blue Chilli Awards 2009 website at www.klue.com.my/bluechilli.
10 finalists will be chosen from all the nominees submitted by the public and one of them will walk home as the KLue Blue Chilli Award 2009 winner with lucrative prizes. Guess what? If you’re the one who nominated the winner of the KLue Blue Chilli Award 2009, you walk home with attractive prizes too from the sponsors!
Wait!! That’s not all! This year, the KLue Blue Chilli Awards is giving out a special award which is The Special Nuffnang Award for an outstanding individual in the Final 10 who thinks out of the box and is expressive in nature.
